A letter from the president:

The year 2007 has come to an end and 2008 is already here. It is with great joy that I share with you that 2007 was our biggest year ever at Children's Network International / Help the Children. We distributed over $97,000,000 dollars of relief supplies to more than 12 countries and 8 states. We established14 new clinics in Mexico by providing medical supplies and equipment that will provide basic healthcare to needy children and their families. We sent medical aid to Nicaragua, Honduras and Guatemala. We sent food, clothing and personal hygiene items to those affected by Hurricane Mitch in Nicaragua. We distributed toys in Guatemala City, Guatemala and in Kenya, East Africa. Our Christmas party in the inner cities of Los Angeles was a tremendous success. Many children accepted the Lord at this event and each child left with a new toy in hand as well as food for the family. Each day God opens new doors for us at Help the Children and for that we are truly blessed to be able to help in so many different areas around the world but we know that we cannot achieve our goals without the support of friends like you. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts! We look forward to partnering together in 2008 to help make this world a better place.

10 Year Anniversary Banquet in October

It is hard to believe that it has been ten years since we first opened our doors to help the needy around the world. In the last ten years, CNI/Help the Children distributed over 325 million dollars worth of supplies to more than 60 countries and 12 states. We feel truly blessed to be able to serve so many people from diverse cultures and still be able to share the word of God with those who are willing to listen. We had 272 people attend our first banquet and when the night was over many told me that they had no idea on how much CNI/HTC was doing around the world. Our key note speaker was Esther Muiu for the Oasis Girls Center in Nairobi Kenya, East Africa. I knew that since we do not have the funds to send people to Africa to show them what we are doing there, we felt it would be better to have our director there come to us. Esther did a fantastic job in relating to everyone in attendance what is going on in Kenya. Several board members spoke as well giving great insight and direction of what the future holds for "Help the Children." We are excited and motivated as God leads us into 2008 that each step we take is according to His plan under the direction of a wonderful board along with an incredible staff. Please keep us in your prayers as we pray for you!

Help Cancer Victims at our Love and Life Center in Honduras

Nine year old Maria came to us in the later stages of cancer. The disease had ravaged her body and her parents hoped for one last chance at treatment. Luckily she was able to get in to the cancer treatment center at the local hospital. But she and her family had no place to stay during treatment. That's where we come in. Our Love and Life Center in Tegucigalpa, Honduras helps hundreds of children like Maria and their families get through a very trying time. The Center has 62 beds to provide a warm, comforting place to stay while children receive treatment at the hospital across the street. Some of those children are abandoned by their parents, who cannot cope with the tragedy of their disease. They end up in our orphanage where Herb and Joan Prince show them the love of Jesus and give them a sense of family. If you would like to help support this very important clinic, go to our website and click donation and put in the comment section, Love and Life Center in Honduras. Thank you in advance for helping children with cancer. Honduras is the third poorest country in Latin America and the second poorest in Central America according to the IFAD. For more info please look up the following website: www.ruralpovertyportal.org/english/regions/americas/hnd/index.htm Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." Matthew 19:14

Oasis Girls & Boys School in Kenya

In Nairobi, Kenya, Esther and Shad Muiu head up the Oasis Girls and Boys Center. This Christian school houses 120 children where many of their parents have died of AIDS and had no one else to turn to for help and who have no hope. Shelter, food, and clothing are provided for the children and most importantly, we share the love of Jesus. But the need is great. Currently there is a waiting list of girls who need our help. You can get involved in touching a hopeless child through our child sponsorship programs. For more information, please call Roger at (323) 980-9870 or visit us on the web at: www.helpthechildren.org and click under child sponsorships.

Thankful,
